The most common reason is that you have an older iPhone and the latest update isn’t compatible with your device. If there’s no update available, you’ll see the message “Your iPhone software is up to date” in the “Software” section of the page. Then, click “Download” and follow the onscreen instructions. If you’d like to install it, perform a backup first. If there’s an update available, you’ll see it listed.
